October 10

Spike for the cure - The ninth annual Spike for the Cure volleyball tournament will be played Wednesday, October 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Clarkston High School gymnasium. Spike for the Cure pink T-shirts, sponsored by Scott and Trevor Arnone of Edward Jones, will be sold and all proceeds donated to the Gina Quesenberry foundation, which provides financial assistance to local breast cancer patients. Donations will also be accepted at the door.

KAMIAH OPEN GYM - The Youth Advisory Board in Kamiah is organizing a basketball open gym for all ages from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 12 at Kamiah Middle School. Information is available from Jace Sams at (208) 743-0392.

LEWISTON HIGH WINTER SPORTS PARENT MEETING - This mandatory meeting is for the parents or guardians of Lewiston High athletes planning to play basketball or wrestle. It will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Lewiston High auditorium. Topics on these nights will include required paperwork, academic requirements, expectations of athletes and parents as well as sports specific information including notable dates and times. WRESTLING RULES CLINIC - Idaho District II wrestling officials (and those interested in becoming one) will meet for a mandatory rules clinic at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at Lewiston High. Boys' basketball officials will meet at the same time and building.

OCTOBER 19-20

Lewis-Clark State Homecoming - L-C will celebrate Homecoming Weekend on Oct. 19-20, with alumni games for baseball (Oct. 20 at noon at Harris Field), men's basketball (Oct. 20 at 4:30 p.m. at the Activity Center), and golf (Oct. 19-20 at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club). Loosely linked to this alumni weekend will be an L-C women's basketball game Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Activity Center. For more information, contact LCSC athletics at 208-792-2471.

SEaport Striders' lewis-clark half-marathon & 5k fun run - The 20th annual Seaport Striders' event is booked to take place on Oct. 20, with check-in and same-day registration starting at 7:30 a.m. at Granite Lake Park (located at 848 Port Way). LCSC COACH MEET AND GREET - Lewis-Clark State men's and women's golf coach Kyla Lien will meet with fans for 90 minutes starting at 9 a.m. Oct. 23 at the Mystic Cafe in Lewiston for the school's monthly "Coffee With a Coach."

Seaport Striders Race Directors' Meeting - The Seaport Striders regional racing club will hold a meeting at the Clarkston McDonald's at 9 a.m. for all current race directors. Anyone may attend, including people interested in becoming a director. Information is available at lcd66@hotmail.com.

l-c golf fundraiser - The Lewis-Clark State men's and women's golf program will stage a fundraising dinner and auction Oct. 29 at Clarkston Golf and County Club, offering a trip to the Masters golf tournament as grand prize. Tickets are $150 and must be bought in advance, through L-C athletics, Lewiston Golf and Country Club, Bryden Canyon Golf Course or Printcraft Printing.
