PREP TRACK AND FIELD: Lamanna, Smith pick up wins for Spartans at Barry Saltz Relays
NEWPORT — Ian Lamanna won the pole vault, Chase Smith the javelin, and Priest River posted 14 top three overall finishes at the Barry Saltz Memorial Relays held at Newport High on Saturday.
Gavin Griesmer bested his own school record in the javelin, throwing for 134 feet and 10 inches to place third. Trinity Meyers posted a pair of top three finishes in the discus and javelin. Lizzie McCracken was third in the 1600, posting a new personal best time of 6:00.24.
The Spartans are back in action on Thursday at the District I Meet of Champions hosted by Post Falls High.
