For many, it takes a lifetime to accomplish their dreams. However, for 24-year-old Sandpoint resident Amber Laiche, her dedication and perseverance have already led her to live the life she envisioned as a child.

A passionate dancer, Amber’s parents enrolled her in her first dance class when she was just 2 years old, and she has never stopped. “When I was 15, I envisioned owning my own dance studio,” said Amber. “Even when I was little, I would pretend I was the dance teacher while playing with my friends.”

That vision has become a reality for Amber, a former Sandpoint High School dance team member who is opening her studio in Sandpoint. Amber brings vast experience beyond her days at Sandpoint High School. After graduating in 2017, Amber went on to dance for the University of Montana before turning professional as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, where she danced during the 2021 football season.

Amber's passion is evident as she reflects on the blessings dance has given her, including lifelong friendships, confidence, camaraderie, good health, and a strong work ethic.

“Throughout my dance career, I have always been allowed to challenge myself and work hard to achieve goals. These experiences gave me the confidence and the ability to fulfill my dream of becoming a professional dancer with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders,” said Amber. “I would love to help the young dancers in our community build the confidence to go after their dreams — whatever those may be. I think our youth need confidence and a positive self-image today. Dance has blessed me with so much, and I'm passionate about passing it on to others.”

Amber began her career as a dance instructor in Dallas, supplementing her income as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.

“I started with private and group classes at Prodigy Dance Studio in Dallas, where I worked with young dancers ages 3 to 17," said Amber, who went on to coach the Sandpoint High School dance team in district and state competitions. These experiences set the stage for Amber's journey to Danceology in San Diego, where she immersed herself in teaching diverse dance genres while also managing the office operations. "These experiences were pivotal in preparing me to open my dance studio," said Amber.

At Laiche Dance Center, which will open Aug. 24, Amber will focus on all genres of dance, including hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, ballet, and more. She will also assist those who desire to become professionals.

“My goal is to help any dancer reach their dreams, and I plan to offer a diversity of training to my students so they can achieve that,” said Amber.

Classes at Laiche Dance Center will be open to children from 12 months to 18 years old in both group and private settings. Amber shares that she is also considering offering a class for adults.

Conveniently located at 1411 North Division, Suite C, Laiche Dance Center will host its grand opening Saturday, Aug. 24, beginning at 9 a.m. There will be refreshments, early bird registration, and an opportunity to tour the facility. From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Amber will be joined by a former Arizona Cardinal cheerleader and a former Seattle Seahawks cheerleader for a "Sit and Sign" event. Capping off the event will be an opportunity for the community to come and dance with Amber at 11 a.m. "I want to encourage everyone interested to come and experience what Laiche Dance Center is all about," said Amber.

Amber will initially be the main instructor, but she intends to host guest choreographers monthly. In her second year of business, she plans to expand her regular teaching staff.

“At Laiche Dance Center, I want each dancer stepping into my studio to feel loved, seen, heard, and supported,” said Amber. “I want them to know that any dream is attainable, and the world is waiting for your best efforts. I want to spread joy through dance to the world.”
