Lou Domanski Chess Festival deadline approaches

SANDPOINT — The Lou Domanski Chess Festival — a one-day tournament organized by the city of Sandpoint — will take place 9 a.m. April 5 at Sandpoint Community Hall.

The all-day contest is a Swiss-system tournament featuring three categories of competition. The deadline for registration is March 27. 

Registration fees for the elementary (grades 1-6), middle/high school (grades 7-12) and open divisions are $7, $10 and $12, respectively. 

Medals will be awarded for each division. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch.
