Local Bridge Unit hosts successful tourney

American Contract Bridge League Unit 399, in conjunction with the Gate City Bridge Club and the Little Slam Bridge Club, hosted a three-day event for non-life masters on April 5, 6, and 7. Card players came from Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Sun Valley, and Idaho Falls, in addition to many from the local area. Dana Christensen was the director and Cathy Kratz, the tourney chair. The local clubs provided lunches on Friday and Saturday, while Los Roberto’s catered the meal on Sunday.

Friday morning session: Laura and Greg Brice, Steve Heidel and Allen Jones, Jim Churchill and Linda Parsons, Doris Brydon and Larry Kratz, Pat Olsen and Josie Brown, Mardy Little and Kathy Thomas, Paul Allen and Lucy Bonman, Linda Nicolson and Marty Carnevale.

Friday afternoon session: Jim and Janet Mayfield, Shirley Tanner and Judy Gibson, Deanne and Jerry Drake, Peggy Vogt and Anne Gaffney, Pat Olsen and Josie Brown Allen Jones and Steve Heidel, Doris and Bill Brydon, Linda Edwards and Louise Wilson Noyes.

Saturday morning session:

Janet and Jim Mayfield, Paul Allen and Lucy Bonman, Linda Parsons and Jim Churchill, Laura and Greg Brice, Larry Kratz and John Sutter, Sid and Miki Paskett, Barb Bain and Janice Matteson-Howell.

Saturday afternoon session:

Jim and Janet Mayfield, Louise Wilson Noyes and Linda Edwards, Mardy Little and Kathy Thomas, Larry Kratz and John, Sutter, Dawna Wilson ad Kris Giger, Allen Jones and Steve Heidel, Doris and Bill Brydon.

Sunday play was a Swiss Team event and eight teams of four participated. Winning teams were Jim Mayfield, Janet Mayfield, Allen Jones and Steve Heidel, first; Deanne Drake, Jerry Drake, Louise Wilson Noyes and Linda Edwards, second; Barb Bain, Janice Matteson-Howell, Doris Brydon and Bill Brydon, third; Anne Gaffney, Barb Doerr, Richard Munoz and Ann Munoz, fourth.
