Six Missouri athletes competing in the NCAA Outdoor Championships

MU track and field has six athletes competing in the NCAA Outdoor Championships, which are from Wednesday to Saturday.

MU does not compete until Thursday. Two athletes compete each day.

Senior Becky Keating is competing in the women’s hammer throw 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keating qualified by finishing 12th at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships. She finished fourth at the SEC Outdoor Championships.

Sophomore Sophia Rivera is competing in the women’s javelin at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday. Rivera set the MU school record in this event at the John McDonnell Invitational, and finished second in the SEC Outdoor Championships.

Freshman Roberto Vilches is competing in the men’s high jump 7 p.m. on Friday. Vilches currently has the top mark in the nation in this event and placed fifth at the SEC Outdoor Championships.

Freshman Georgi Nachev is competing at 7:40 p.m. on Friday in the men's triple jump. Nachev qualified by finishing 10th at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships and placed fourth at the SEC Outdoor Championships.

Senior Gabbi Jacobs is competing at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday in women's discus. Jacobs is the only MU athlete to receive multiple NCAA All-America honors in the event. She won the event three seasons in a row at the SEC Outdoor Championships.

Freshman Mirieli Santos is competing in the women's triple jump at 5:40 p.m. on Saturday. Santos placed above all other freshman at the SEC Outdoor Championships and is the first Missouri athlete to earn an All-America honor in the event.

ESPN will cover the championships and results will be available on flashresults.com, according to MU Athletics.
