Hickman and Missouri wrestling alum J’den Cox earned a spot on the 2019 U.S. World Team on Saturday. This is the fourth straight time Cox has earned a spot on a World or Olympic team.
Eierman close to U23 World Team berth
Tolton alum and Missouri wrestler Jaydin Eierman was one of the 10 winners of the U23 World Team Trials Tournament. Five of the 10 spots for the U23 men’s freestyle World Team were claimed Sunday, but five of the winners can still be challenged. It is unknown which of the five spots were claimed.
Eierman is taking next year off from school to train in an attempt to make the Olympics. He has three chances to qualify. He can qualify as early as September at the 2019 World Championships and as late as April 2020 at the Pan American Qualification Tournament and the World Qualification Tournament.
Greer and Dulle sign with MLB teams
It has been a great start to the week for two draftees with ties Missouri baseball.
Jalen Greer and Cameron Dulle signed contracts with the Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals, respectively, on Monday after both were selected in the MLB draft. Greer, a Missouri commit from St. Rita High School (Illinois), was drafted by the Athletics in the fifth round, while Dulle was drafted by the Cardinals, his hometown team, in the 30th.
Missouri Junior Match Play Championship features Columbia golfers
The Missouri Golf Association hosted the qualifying round of the Missouri Junior Match Play Championship on Monday at Tanglewood Golf Club. Some of Columbia’s own competed.
Keith Schaezler tied for third place amongst the boys and advanced to match play. Andrew Fallis also advanced to match play.
Audrey Rischer was a medalist and advanced to match play.
Match play begins Tuesday and ends on Thursday.
