A Columbia man was acquitted of all charges last week for an alleged December 2017 home invasion and shooting.

A Boone County jury cleared Derrick Burnett Jr., 35, of several felony counts, including first-degree burglary and first-degree assault.

Burnett Jr. was arrested July 2018 after the Missouri State Highway Patrol lab determined that blood found at the crime scene matched Burnett Jr.'s.

One person was injured as a result of the incident.
