SANDPOINT – Summertime is sizzlin’, at least in the Arts & Entertainment corner, with festivities of every flavor this week.

Tonight, catch the Festival at Sandpoint art unveiling at DISH in Dover Bay, as well as the Bum Jungle Bash at Matchwood Brewing to benefit the Pend d’Oreille Bay Trail.

Friday kicks off the Antique & Classic Boat Show on the Sand Creek Boardwalk in a show that runs through Sunday. Friday night, flash back to the Summer Of Love with the Feeling Groovy Dance Party at the Panida.

On Saturday, the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce hosts Beerfest at Trinity at City Beach and the Sandpoint Farmers Market celebrates its 31st anniversary with live music by Muffy & The Riffhangers and a belly dancing performance at intermission.

Lots to choose from – better get your sleep rolling into the weekend!

Festival at Sandpoint Poster Unveiling

Venue: DISH at Dover Bay, 651 Lakeshore Ave., in Dover.

Time: 5-7 p.m.

Come by bike, boat, car or kayak for the 2019 Fine Art Poster Unveiling and be the first to see the original artwork by this year’s poster artist, Robert Bissett. Enjoy complimentary snacks, plus live music by Meg Turner and Chris Lynch.

Bum Jungle Bash

Venue: Matchwood Brewing Co., 513 Oak St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 6-9 p.m.

Come join this benefit party for the Pend d’Oreille Bay Trail, featuring music by Sandpoint’s own Bum Jungle.

Along with great music, there will be a mini-silent auction that includes Festival at Sandpoint Season Passes and two pre-season tickets to the Aug. 8 Seahawks vs. Broncos game, with one night for two at the W Hotel in downtown Seattle.

‘Red Joan’

Venue: Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 7:30 p.m.

In a picturesque village in England, Joan Stanley (Academy Award winner Dame Judi Dench), lives in contented retirement. Then suddenly her tranquil existence is shattered as she’s shockingly arrested by MI5. For Joan has been hiding an incredible past; she is one of the most influential spies in living history.

Venue: 219 Lounge, 219 First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Clark Fork based signer songwriter Dustin Drennan makes his 219 debut, bringing a style deeply soulful drawing inspiration from life experiences to inspire his folk, cow-punk, or alt-country music.

Kerry Leigh

Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Lifelong musician Kerry Leigh owns and operates a recording studio in Sandpoint, which has helped him produce and distribute his many albums and songs across the world.

Friday, July 12

Tennis (the band!)

Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 8 p.m.

Tennis is back at the Brewery to help kick off summer and this time, there’s no cover! Get there early, though, because the place will be full to capacity in no time.

Admission: Free for those 21 and over.

Sandpoint Contra Dance

Venue: Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 S. First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 7-10 p.m.

Featuring live music with Out of the Wood. Previous dancing experience is not necessary and all dances are taught. First-time dancers are encouraged to arrive on time for the first dance at 7 pm.

Coeur d’Alene based Desperate 8s make their 219 debut. They will have you dancing to your favorite classic timeless rock tunes from the Beatles to the Doors and everything in between.

Beerfest
