Questions of why children attacked infant need to be answered

While itís clear that adult lack of supervision provided an opportunity for a baby to be assaulted, an equally pressing concern is why the other children brutally attacked the baby. Even if it was a case of ďmob mentality,Ē the childrenís behavior was extremely appalling, yet the focus seems to be only on the day care ownerís culpability. The infant is likely traumatized for life; shouldnít we also be considering the mental health status of the perpetrators and questioning how children in our community could display such behavior?
