Canadian company is the real carpetbagger

Print Article

Herb, you are way off base on this. The carpetbagger is the Canadian company coming here to take advantage of a depressed economy’s cheap labor, land, and abundant hydro-power. Our environment’s air and water quality for decades be damned. Another Canadian company tried unsuccessfully to buy Avista. See a pattern here?

I grew up in Arizona and saw first-hand what smelters do to the land, wildlife, and air quality. They could care less what they leave behind. Thank God for Mr. Naylor and his efforts to stop this Newport smelter from being built.
