Local veterans being honored Saturday

PRIEST RIVER — The community’s veterans will be honored at a special ceremony Saturday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 113 Larch St.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. and there is no charge to attend. In addition to the “missing man” table, which pays tribute to Americans who were or are missing from each of the services — Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard — and civilians. In addition, the ceremony will talk about the history of Veterans Day.

As those attending enter the VFW Hall they will notice the wall of honor, which features those who have served from the community, both in the past and present, in red, white and blue frames, forming an American flag. If anyone is not featured on the wall, their name can be sent to VFW officials at VFWPost2909@gmail.com.
