Deadline nears for Autumn Boom Run

The deadline to enter the Newport Autumn Bloom Run, a fun run that offers both a 5K and 10K option, is Sept. 16.

The race is set for Saturday, Sept. 21, at TJ Kell Park, corner of First Street and Washington Avenue in Newport, Wash.

The cost is $30 adult (16 and older) with shirt or $20 without a shirt; $20 for youth under 16 years old with a shirt; or $20 on-site registration with no shirt available. Discounts are available for group of six or more; call or email the foundation for information.

Pre-registration for the race is Sept. 16. On-site registration will take place Sept. 21 from 7:30-8:30 a.m. All registration and check-in closes at 8:30 a.m.

The 10K is a certified Bloomsday second seed qualifying race. Corporate and group discounts are available (six-plus participants); those interested should call the Newport Hospital and Health Services Foundation office for their code.

This year’s event benefits the NHHS Foundation’s Healthy Kids Snack Bag Program, the Reach Out and Read program and other Foundation programs.
