The public is invited to North Idaho College’s Day of Dialogue from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13. The event will take place in the Edminster Student Union Building, Lake Coeur d’Alene Room.

The keynote speaker will be Paulette Jordan, Democratic gubernatorial nominee in the 2018 election.

“The community is invited to listen and learn from Paulette Jordan, who will share her story and how she has created stepping stones on her journey through life,” said Tracy Struble, NIC communication instructor and event organizer.

A member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Jordan grew up on a farm in North Idaho. She discovered a love of politics and grass-roots activism at the Univer-sity of Washing-ton, working with the Seattle City Council and the univer-sity’s administration on behalf of students. After graduation, she moved back to Idaho and became the youngest person elected to the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Council.

In 2014, she was elected to the Idaho House of Representatives and was re-elected in 2016. She was the only Democrat serving in the Idaho Legislature from North Idaho during her final term before declaring for the Idaho governor race against Brad Little.

The event is free and open to the public with refreshments provided.
