Graduates had the right to express individuality
This letter is in response to Michelle Marker regarding graduation attire. Since when has graduation day become about the parents or administration? Graduation day is supposed to be about the students who worked so hard to get to that turning point in their lives. It is their day. I am sure that the parents of those students who so "disrespectfully" walked barefooted, in pants, leis, or sandals, were encouraging their children to show individuality rather than conformity. Since when is individuality disrespectful?

Facts, scientists support evolution
In "Missing links, still missing" (May 29, 2005), Joanna Fuchs asserts, "There is no scientific empirical evidence supporting macroevolution." That will come as a surprise to the vast majority of the Earth and life scientists in this country, virtually all of whom (99 percent) have carefully examined the evidence and come to the exact opposite conclusion. In fact, every reputable scientific organization in the world endorses the theory of evolution because it is the only scientific explanation for biodiversity that is consistent with all the evidence.

The use of our Islamic personnel to force other Moslems to convert to Christianity would be a violation of church and state. Shoot, we have trouble converting our own nation.
