Apology owed for outrageous insult
This letter concerns the “cartoon” in the Daily Bee on Dec. 13, 2012. The cartoon is ignorant, outrageous and disgusting. How dare you depict the Holy Father as a cartoon character? Especially at Christmastime. Please apologize to the public for this.
Editorial cartoon was beyond shameful
The cartoon you printed in the Dec. 18 paper is so out of line I can’t even image what you where thinking! What the heck is the matter with you printing a cartoon depicting empty backpacks and bullet shells?! Shameful. Words cannot express how angry this makes me.

We Americans value the right to speak our minds and we believe in the right of free speech. So if Rob Roberts, editorial cartoonist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, decides to display his ignorance and bias in a particularly insensitive and offensive manner, we afford him that stage. His depiction of the Catholic Pope as a crazed tweeter espousing “15th century views” certainly says more about the cartoonist than about Pope Benedict.
