Priest River Track and Field’s boys team placed fourth and the girls placed eighth at the Bonners Ferry Invitational last Saturday.

“Overall the meet went well,” Head coach Jared Hughes said. “This was the first time for the kids to go more than 200 meters on the track, go over more than the first three hurdles, jump over a bar, or throw onto something other than snow.”

Teagun Holycross led the team by eking out a .01 second win in the 100 meters (11.76), then winning 300 hurdles in a 45.45.

“He has been working hard in the off-season running in some indoor track meets and it is really paying off,” Hughes said.

Cassidy Prudek led the way for the girls by finishing third in the pole vault (6’6) and a fifth in the 100 meter hurdles (19.25).

Results from Tuesday night’s Priest River’s IML dual meet at Kellogg were unavailable at press time. The Spartans’ next meet is at Riverside on Friday at 11 a.m.
