Limits lifted from more area roads

Road weight limits have been lifted in some areas of the county, according to Bonner County Road & Bridge officials.

District 1 (south of the Long Bridge) — Effective 4 p.m. today, all road will have weight limits lifted except for all roads east of Highway 95 from Granite Hill to the Long Bridge. Wooded Acres, Westwood Heights, Merril Martin, Jewel Lake Road, Ferry Road, Otts Basin, Whittum Road, Cocolalla Loop, Roberts Lane, Tweedie Road, Pend Oreille Drive and Twin Rivers Road, E. Comeback Bay Lane, Comeback Bay Lane, Hanford Drive and Birch Banks are posted as no hauling.

District 2 (Priest River/Priest Lake) — Effective 4 p.m. today, all road south of the Pend Oreille River will be lifted from weight limits. All roads north of the river remain posted with weight limits.

Eastriver Road is closed at the 6400 block due to a slide. The Eastriver Loop bridge has load restrictions of 3.2 tons per axle and a height restriction of 12-feet, 1-inch.

District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork) —The following roads have been lifted from weight limits; N. Boyer Road, W. Bronx, W. Selle, Sunnyside Road, Kaniksu Shores Road, W. Oden Bay Road, Oden Bay Drive, Providence Road, McGhee Road, Kootenai Bay Road, Whiskey Jack Road, all roads off Whiskey Jack Road, roads within Ponder Point area, Johnson Creek Road, Lightning Creek Road, Denton Road, River Road to Twin Creek Road and all roads on Hope Peninsula. All other roads remain posted with weight limits.

Per BCRC Ordinance No. 422, it shall be the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. These restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
