Proposal would cut county's nose off to spite its face

What do Ann Giantvalley, Don Moore, James Ramsey, Judy Meyers, Karleen McBirney, Krista Eberle, Larry Smith, Liam Fitzgerald, Michael Harmelin, Nancy Gerth, Rob Harrison, Susan Bates-Harbuck, Tom Houlihan and several retired nursing professionals have in common?

I know of only one thing. Each has written compelling statements published in this paper concerning the ill-advised proposal of a county commissioner asking Bonner County to defund its financial support of Panhandle Health District.

The county commissioners need to carefully read Susan Bates-Harbuck’s letter (Daily Bee, Nov. 30) in which she provides a comprehensive list of the multiple services PHD provides to residents of Bonner County.

Defunding PHD is a perfect example of cutting off your nose to spite your face.
