Jabus 'Elmer' Waits

On the night of November 29, 2020, Jabus “Elmer” Waits, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 90.

Elmer was born on April 8, 1930, in Greeley, Colorado, to Elmer and Nina Waits. In 1951, Elmer was drafted into and served in the Korean War. On February 18, 1956, he married Agnes Jennie Waits. They raised a daughter and son, Sandi, and Ron.

Elmer had a passion for working with wood. He was a logger up until 1965, and then he went into construction. He helped build wonderful houses for his children and beautiful furniture for his children and grandchildren. He was also a true outdoorsman and an avid hunter.

Elmer was preceded in death by his mother and father, Elmer and Nina. His siblings Eunice, Glen, Violet, and Clarence all preceded him in death as well. He is survived by his wife, Agnes of Laclede; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Kevin of Algoma; his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Melanie of Laclede; and his brother Ray of Littleton, Colorado. He also has five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren spread across the Northwest.

The family wishes not to hold a funeral or memorial due to COVID. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Elmer’s wife, Agnes, at P.O. Box 91 Laclede, ID 83841.
