MULLAN — Clark Fork girls basketball grabbed their second victory of the season with a 49-22 North Star League win over Mullan on Tuesday night.

Following a long holiday break, one would expect the Lady Cats to come out a bit slow in their opening game. But that wasn’t the case as Clark Fork built a 20-3 lead after the first quarter.

The Lady Cats kept up the pressure and held the Tigers to zero points in the second quarter to take a 28-3 advantage into the halftime break.

Thanks to a big first half, Clark Fork held on for the 27-point win.

All seven Lady Cats that saw the floor scored for Clark Fork with senior Sara Hathaway leading the way with 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

Sophomore Katelyn Matteson added 9 points and sophomore Caiya Yanik tallied 8 points and five rebounds.

“It was good to come out of a two week break with a W,” head coach Jordan Adams wrote in a text. “Hopefully the momentum carries to the next few games.”

The Lady Cats (2-6, 1-1) return home to face Kellogg JV at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
