CLARK FORK — It was all Clark Fork girls basketball Monday night as the Lady Cats dominated from start to finish in a 52-28 win over the Post Falls C team.

Coming in, one would’ve expected a close matchup given the 3-point loss the Lady Cats suffered at Post Falls on Dec. 19.

But it didn’t take long for Clark Fork to gain control of the game and cruise from there.

“We’re just a different team,” head coach Jordan Adams said. “The girls are moving the ball better and they’re looking at different things they did in the past.”

The Lady Cats jumped out to a 13-4 first quarter lead thanks in large part to their pesky defense that forced seven turnovers in the opening eight minutes.

Clark Fork carried that momentum into the second quarter building a 24-4 advantage.

With the large lead, Adams decided to rest some of her starters midway through the quarter which allowed the Trojans to reduce the deficit to 25-13 at the half.

Both teams started the second half a little slow but eventually the Lady Cats found their rhythm once again and didn’t look back.

Clark Fork built a lead as big as 26 points and forced 26 turnovers in the game.

Senior Ellie Kiebert finished with 24 points, nine rebounds and six steals. It’s her fourth consecutive 20 point game.

Senior Sara Hathaway added 11 points and six steals and freshman Emily Myers had 8 points.

The Lady Cats (6-9, 1-3 NSL) host Wallace 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
