OLDTOWN — A Culdesac woman was injured Sunday after losing control of her vehicle on Highway 41 on Sunday.

Idaho State Police said Aurora Troit, 36, was northbound when she lost control of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo she was driving while trying to make a rapid left turn. Troit pulled her coupe into the path of a Toyota RAV4 driven by Carol Tinghino, a 64-year-old from Rathdrum.

Both the Monte Carlo and the Toyota crossover sport utility vehicle came to rest in the southbound ditch. Occupants from both vehicles were taken to Newport Hospital and Kootenai Health with non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.

Troopers said seat belts were worn by all occupants and the crash remains under investigation.
