Missing Sagle man found safe

BAYVIEW — A Sagle man who went missing while picking mushrooms has been found safe, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said on Friday night.

Ronald Lee Winget, 58, was last seen on Thursday afternoon, when he was dropped off on Salee Creek Road west of Bayview. He was reported missing on Friday afternoon.

Deputies initially responded to the area and were later joined by Recreation Safety Section deputies, the sheriff’s office said. Additional members from the KCSO Volunteer Search & Rescue unit joined the search.

Deputies have conducted ground searches and also checked the area with an unmanned aerial vehicle.

Air resources from Spokane have also been assisting in the search.

“He is in good condition,” the sheriff’s office said after Winget was located.

The sheriff’s office thanked the agencies and volunteers who took part in the searches for Winget.
