COVID-19 case reassigned to Spokane County

One of two COVID-19 case reported in southern Pend Oreille County Saturday has been reassigned to Spokane County after continued investigation by Northeast Tri County Health District staff.

The detailed investigation identified that one of these individual’s principle residency and exposure occurred in Spokane County. “In coordination with Spokane Regional Health District, we worked successfully to re-assign this case investigation to Spokane County,” Matt Schanz NETCHD administrator said in a press release Sunday.

However, there were close contacts in Pend Oreille County and those individuials were given guidance and advised of precautions they should take, he said.

The other case occurring in Pend Oreille County has been investigated and precautions shared with both the individual and close contacts.

Within Washington state, as of May 24, 2020, there have been a total of 19, 585 cases of COVID-19 and 1,055 deaths. Washington state is still continuing to see 100-200 new confirmed cases per day. Pend Oreille County has three cases, while Stevens County has 10 cases with one reported death, and Ferry County has one case.
