Pair injured in Sunday accident

SPIRIT LAKE — A Spirit Lake man and his passenger were injured after Sunday evening accident.

Idaho State Police said that Richard E. Morrison, 72, of Spirit Lake, was northbound about 4:42 p.m. near milepost 16 Highway 41 just south of the community when he hit a patch of ice and lost control of his 2004 Ford F150 pickup. The vehicle rolled off the northbound shoulder, ejecting Morrison. Also in Morrison's vehicle was Kathryn J. Morrison, 69, also of Spirit Lake.

Neither Morrisons were wearing seat belts. Both were transported to Kootenai Health for their injuries. Investigation is continuing.
