SANDPOINT — Lake Pend Oreille has reached its winter pool elevation, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The winter elevation range is 2,051-2,051.5 feet above sea level. The current operation at Albeni Falls Dam on the Pend Oreille River is intended to hold the lake within a half-foot minimum control elevation during the kokanee spawning season.

The lake was at 2,051.19 feet at the Hope gauge, the corps said on Tuesday. The outflow at Albeni Falls Dam was reduced from 16,000 cubic feet per second to 13,000 cfs on Monday.
