Where’s the snow in the Kingdom of Slumber?

| November 29, 2020 1:00 AM

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Slumber, the king issued a decree: "It has snowed four feet. Life is risky."

He mandated everyone stay home for their own well-being unless they wore ski masks and snow booties to prevent freezing noses and toes.

Churches and businesses were ordered closed. Meetings of more than 10 people not allowed. Subjects must stay six feet apart … no hugging allowed. Violators would be fined 1000 kopecs and jailed for six months.

You can't visit dying seniors in care facilities. Family members thought deaths were due to pneumonia or other causes, but death certificates gave cause of death as frozen noses and toes, even though the deceased had not been outside.

Medicine men were invited to send the king the number of cases of frozen noses and toes treated. Each case entitled them to a 13,000 to 39,000 kopecks subsidy.

The King announced fake numbers every hour on TV, and newspaper articles.

Fear gripped people. Skeptics looked outside and said there's no snow, only green grass. The king’s knights wrapped scarves tightly around their faces and prevented them from speaking such unscientific nonsense.

CDC says total Idaho deaths all causes, 7,079, the first six months of 2020 are less than first six months last year, 7091. There is no epidemic.

People believe stupid stuff if properly indoctrinated.

Why did 918 people voluntarily drink cyanide and die in 1978? They obeyed cult leader, Jim Jones’ decree.
