Museum is another Bonner County gem

| September 1, 2020 1:00 AM

Sometimes in our busy lives it is good to take a break and reflect on a good memory that will bring us a smile. This is that time.

Last November I was invited to Bonner County History Museum for the unveiling of their newest exhibit, “The Women Who Shaped Bonner County.” I was greeted by several friendly staff members and the museum’s curator, Heather Upton. Ms. Upton gave a wonderful tour of the latest displays. After the tour there was time to explore the entire museum, which documented our corner of the universe with interesting artifacts, images and documents. Hot cider and cookies were offered at the end of my visit. My only disappointment was that I had not visited this treasure of a museum earlier in my 22 years living in Bonner County.

In a time of turmoil for many, this private non-profit educational gem is something I think the entire community can unite on. If you haven’t visited the museum, I would encourage you to do that do so any Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. They have a great website, too.
