If you want change, vote for Steve Johnson

| September 17, 2020 1:00 AM

People have expressed anger over two important Bonner County issues recently: the lawsuit costing taxpayers over $200,000 and the county commissioner’s plan to stop public input for planning decisions around mining permits. There is a solution: vote for Steve Johnson.

I just read two more letters in the Bee from readers who are outraged about how our current commissioners are handling these two issues and yet not one person mentioned a solution.  Both writers seemed to think that simply letting the current commissioners know that they oppose these actions would be enough to change things. I disagree. Vote for Steve Johnson if you want to change things for the better.

Two of the current commissioners have shown us that they do not care about spending your hard earned money on frivolous lawsuits. They do not care about your opinion concerning zoning laws that will increase mining and industrial activities in your backyard.

In contrast, Steve Johnson has pledged to always allow public input and to keep us out of frivolous, expensive lawsuits.

When just 3 people can make life altering decisions for 45,000 people, it’s important to choose people who will act on your behalf. Join me and vote for Steve Johnson for county commissioner and help bring common sense leadership back to our county.
