Voter Registration Day events today

| September 22, 2020 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — With a historic presidential election approaching, every eligible American voter should exercise his or her right to be heard at the ballot box, and National Voter Registration Day is the right day to start by getting registered. This is why communities across the country are planning to use National Voter Registration Day — today, Sept. 22 — to increase voter participation.

Founded in 2012, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their most basic right—the right to vote. Nearly 3 million Americans have registered to vote on the holiday since the inaugural National Voter Registration Day in 2012.

The East Bonner County Library District is pleased to partner with the Bonner County Clerk’s office and KRFY 88.5 FM to participate in National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 22 from 9 am to 3 pm (8-8:45 a.m. and 1:10-2 p.m. at Sandpoint High School). Volunteers will be helping Bonner County voters register, order absentee ballots and answer any questions about voting in the November election.
