Senior center reopens doors

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint Area Seniors has reopened, albeit with some limitations due to the ongoing pandemic.

The dining room is again open for congregate meals at 11:30 a.m., Mondays-Thursdays, for lunch and on Fridays at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast. For those not comfortable with in-person dining, grab-n-go meals are available for pickup at noon Monday-Thursday and 11 a.m. on Fridays.

Bridge players are welcomed back to the senior center every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. To sign up, call Leslie Marshall at 208-255-8088 or Loris Michael at 208-610-5914. Masks and vaccines required. There is a limit of 16 players.

Pinochle players will also be welcomed back starting on Wednesday, April 14, at 9:30 a.m. To sign up, contact Suzi Yeager at 208-304-9872. Masks and vaccines required. There is a limit of 16 players.

The pool table is now open as well, with play limited to four people at a time. Masks and vaccines are required.

Bingo is set to return on May 5 with similar restrictions, SASI Executive Director Cherie Coldwell said.

“Please keep in mind that the senior center is following CDC guidelines and requires anyone entering the facility to wear their mask,” she said. “Thank you and we look forward to serving you once again at the Sandpoint Senior Center.”
