Weight limits lifted from many county roads

While weight restrictions are being lifted from some county roads, they still remain on some, according to Bonner County Road & Bridge officials.

In District 1 — south of the Long Bridge — the following roads are still posted with weight limits: Jewel Lake Road, Wooded Acres, Merril Martin Road, Tamarack Lane, Garfield Bay Road, Garfield Bay Cutoff, Southside School Road, Sunset Road, Road 22, Willford Road, Hill Drive and Clagstone Rd from Spirit Lake Cutoff east to the Kootenai County line.

In addition, “no hauling" restrictions are in effect on Jones Road, Birch Banks, Hanford Drive, E. Comeback Bay Lane, Otts Basin Road, and Comeback Bay Land.

In District 2 — Priest River and Priest Lake areas — weight limits have been lifted from the following roads: E. Settlement Road, Anselmo Lane, Thama Drive, Eastside Rd to Eastside Cutoff, Eastside Cutoff, W Settlement Road, Shaw Road, Sanborn Creek Road, Mirror Lake Road, Peninsula Road, Peninsula Loop, Peterson Road, Freeman Lake Road, Holly Glenn Road, Shannon Lane, Carr Creek Road, Berry Lane, Wrenco Loop, Wrencoe Hills, Campbell Point Road, N Riley Creek, Riley Creek Park, Moore Loop and all roads south of the Pend Oreille River.

Eastriver Road is closed from the 5700 block through the slide area due to lengthy road repairs. Please detour through Eastriver Loop. The Eastriver Loop bridge has weight restrictions of 3.2 tons per axle and a height limit of 12 feet, 1 inch.

In District 3 — Sandpoint and Clark Fork areas — weight limits were lifted from W. Pine Street, Pinecrest Road, Pinecrest Loop, Upland Drive, Baldy Mountain Road to Sweetwater Drive, Gooby Road, Mountain View Road, Leisure Lane, Serenity Place, Woodland Drive, N. Boyer Road, Vedelwood Drive, W. Bronx Road, Park Lane, Shadow Mountain, W. Selle Road, McGhee Road, Providence Road, the Ponder Point area, Oden Bay Road, W. Oden Bay Road, Kaniksu Shores, Sunnyside Road, Sunnyside Cutoff, Hidden Valley Road, Hope Peninsula, Denton Road, E. Spring Creek, Lightning Creek, Johnson Creek Road and River Road (to Twin Creek Road).

No-hauling restrictions are in effect on Milk Creek and Grouse Meadows roads.

Per BCRC Ordinance #422, it shall be the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. These restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
