Thank goodness the ski season is almost over

I live on a mostly dirt road, which is maybe three miles long. It's almost too narrow in places for two car traffic,  and in the winter very icy with ruts and potholes galore. The posted speed limit is 25 mph hour, and I don't know why anyone would travel on it on purpose.

But in the winter, we have to put up with Schweitzer traffic zooming by, going way over the speed limit. And, as if all the beer cans and fast food wrappers weren't enough, we put up with our "friends and neighbors." Before Schweitzer opens,(between 6-8 a.m.) there is steady stream zooming by, I assume people going to work.

They are speeding 'cause there has been four dogs, two deer, 2 turkeys, 12 rabbits, and countless squirrels killed. You don't hit that many animals going 25 mph. And that's just from the water tank to the railroad crossing, maybe 200 yards. Luckily,  no people have been hit.

Well, as I write this, I won't have to put up with it much longer.
