Helen Patricia (Patty) Lissy

Helen Patricia (Patty) Lissy, passed away peacefully at home in Arco, Idaho, on April 24, 2020, at the age of 100.

Patty was a long-time Sandpoint resident, a young bride introduced to North Idaho at the invitation of the U.S. Navy and Farragut Naval Training Base. She was married to theater owner and Sandpoint civic leader, Mayor Floyd Lincoln Gray, until his death in 1972.

Patty worked for the Idaho Department of Labor until her retirement. She loved gardening, was a formidable board game opponent, an accomplished seamstress and became a creative quilt maker with the arrival of great-grandchildren. Patty later married E.I. (Irv) Lissy and together they built a home north of Sandpoint. The Lissys eventually moved to the Spokane Valley where they lived until Irv’s passing in 2005.

Patty is survived by a brother, Charles Martin; much loved sisters-in-law Carolyn Martin, Phyllis Martin, and Pat Martin; her children, daughter Loralee Gray, daughter Dianne Miller and her husband Rich, Lee Gray and his wife Petra, Marilyn Lane and her husband Adrian; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial stone will be set at Lakeview Cemetery on the anniversary of her passing, commemorated by a quiet gathering of family and friends
