Road limits being lifted

| April 17, 2021 1:00 AM

Weight restrictions have been removed from many county roads. However, limits remain on others, Bonner County Road & Bridge officials said.

In District 1 — south of the Long Bridge — the following roads are still posted with weight restrictions: Jewel Lake, Wooded Acres, Merril Martin, Tamarack, Garfield Bay, Garfield Bay Cutoff, Southside School, Sunset, Road 22, Willford, Hill Drive and Clagstone (from Spirit Lake Cutoff east to the Kootenai County line.) "No hauling" restrictions are in effect on Birch Banks, Hanford Drive, E. Comeback Bay Lane, Comeback Bay Lane, and Eichs Road.

In District 2 — Priest River and Priest Lake areas — the following roads remain posted with weight limits: Smith Creek, all roads north of Dickensheet accessed off of Highway 57, Ivan White, Squaw Valley and Eastshore Road (north of Indian Creek State Park).

In District 3 — Sandpoint and Clark Fork areas — the following roads are still posted with weight limits: W. Spring Creek, Dry Creek, Trestle Creek, Trout Creek, Rapid Lightning (from Upper Gold Creek north), Upper Gold Creek, Upper Pack River (from Caribou Creek north) and Baldy Mountain Road (from Janish Drive to the end of the county maintained portion).

Per BCRC Ordinance #422, it shall be the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. These restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
