COEUR d'ALENE — The Clark Fork tennis team played four matches at Coeur d'Alene Charter, the defending 3A-1A District 1 champions, on Monday.

Blaine Williams and Eli Engelhart opened the day with a doubles match against the Panthers No. 1 pair of Jackson Emery and Oscar Hepworth. Clark Fork head coach Jeff Emmer said Emery and Hepworth showed why they are the doubles team to beat in league play, winning 6-1.

Williams and Engelhart bounced back with a 6-1 doubles victory against the Panthers No. 2 pairing.

The Wampus Cats moved to singles play after that, and Williams and Engelhart each lost their matches.

Clark Fork heads to Lewiston at 9 a.m. Saturday for league play.
