WORTH SHARING by Don Dundon

A worthy example of old fashioned “barn raising” is going on at the Bonner County Fairgrounds on North Boyer. Volunteers are building a concession booth which will be much needed when the fair is held the end of August. The work is being done by members of the LDS, Christian, Presbyterian and Methodist congregations and by fathers and friends of the 4-H movement. Sam Roos lays out the day’s work so when the workers show up after 6 p.m. they have enough to keep them busy for the three hours until dark. Denny Wendt records the donated hours.

Nick Nastor, janitor at the Northern Pacific depot for the past four years, left over that road yesterday morning for the eastern coast and thence onward to Greece, the land of his nativity. Nick is toting a poke he has computed at $4500, which he said, was a young fortune in the old country. “Fineesh work,” said Nick, before leaving, “do nothing now. Smoke the beeg cigar. Have fine time in Greece.”
