Kootenai hosting Collection for a Cause fundraiser

KOOTENAI — Kootenai Elementary is holding the school’s annual Collection for a Cause fundraiser.

This year’s fundraising goal is to feed 30 families around Kootenai. The program provides Christmas dinner and food to cover the two-week winter break from school, said principal Kelli Knowles.

Students, staff and the community are invited to bring in their loose change or bills to support the fundraiser. Knowles said these funds are used to fill food boxes for families in need. Checks can be made out to the Kootenai Parent Teacher Organization. The classroom with the most donations will win a donut party.

The fund drive will take place until Dec. 9.
