PRIEST RIVER — Updates about some of the county’s largest early-stage developments will be shared with the public shortly after the new year.

The Lakes Commission will hold their quarterly meeting on January 6 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

The meeting will cover a variety of topics including permit requirements for the Clean Water act, and Idaho Lake Protection Act and Stream Protection.

Updates on county projects will be covered at the meeting including the Coolin Wetland development and the North Trestle Creek private marina.

The Coolin Wetland development has been a hotly contested topic after Tricore Investments LLC announced plans to build on an area currently home to wetlands bordering Chase Lake.

The North Trestle Creek private marina is a proposed 110-boat slip planned at the north end of Lake Pend Oreille. According to project owners at the Idaho Club, the marina has already gained preliminary approval.

The “hybrid” meeting can be attended in person at the West Bonner Library, 118 Main St., in Priest River or virtually over Zoom.

The Lakes Commission is an organization that is involved with water-related projects and topics in the Pend Oreille water basin.

A full agenda of the meeting including guest speakers will be posted on the Lakes Commission website at lakescommission.wordpress.com.
