Trump's entitled behavior harming Republican Party

| January 3, 2021 1:00 AM

For all of my adult life I have been a hybrid of sorts when it comes to politics. I have some very strong views that would probably fall into the conservative column if there were one and other opinions that are definitely more liberal.

I have voted for Democrats and Republicans and know many fine people who consider themselves Democrats and others who are Republicans. I am 54 years old and have never seen an adult in a leadership position behave the way Donald Trump has. He has thrown tantrum after tantrum when he does not get his way and now is willing to make millions suffer just so he can exert his final throws of control in his waning days of presidential narcissism.

It has been fascinating, seeing an adult his age throw temper tantrums. I will give him that. He may have even created some new words in popular culture, like TempertanTrump (my word), Trumplican (I heard Chris Cuomo say this) and Nevertrumper, which was experimented with for a while by Trump sycophants before too many people just laughed at the word and it vanished from the media and culture.

I work with high school and elementary age kids. If I didn't see an escalation in hateful comments and racist comments (but I have) toward other kids I would appreciate the comic relief Trump has provided with his immature man-baby behavior over the past four years. I am sure the Republican party will recover from Trump but he is doing quite a number on it right now with his entitled toddler-esque behavior.
