The annual Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge raised over $2.6 million in 21 days, benefiting 78 nonprofits according to a press release. In North Idaho, 17 participating nonprofits raised more than $496,000 during that period.

Of those organizations in North Idaho, the Bonner County Homeless Task Force raised $100,294.97, the Bonner Community Housing Agency raised $9,740, the Lake Pend Oreille School District raised $5,400 and Kaleidoscope Community Services in Coeur d’Alene raised $1,400. Statewide results are available on avenuesforhope.org.

Since the campaign organized by the Home Partnership Foundation and Idaho Housing and Finance Association started in 2011, it has raised over $7 million for nonprofit organizations that provide assistance to people struggling with housing, according to the release.

“We would like to thank all of our 5,100 generous donors and 41 sponsors for their help in surpassing our goal for this year’s Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge,” said Gerald M. Hunter, president of the Idaho Housing and Finance Association. “These donations will help thousands of Idahoans who are struggling to find or keep safe, stable and affordable housing during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Although the 2020 campaign is over, donations can still be made by visiting the Home Partnership Foundation’s website.
