Why did Fulcher hide as his people stormed Capitol?

A question or two.

Why did Representative Russ Fulcher go into hiding as his people stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6? Shouldn't he have been standing with them as he supported their idea the election was stolen? Will those of you who supported him, stand by him during the next election cycle when he wouldn't stand with his people on Jan. 6? It even appears one of his people sat in the Senate president's chair.
