The daily life of the “hidden homeless” examined at Lifetree Café

| January 25, 2021 1:00 AM

The daily struggles and experiences of the transitionally homeless population will be explored at Lifetree Café on Monday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m.

The program, titled “A Day in the Life of the Hidden Homeless,” features a filmed interview with Latoshia Jackson, a mother of eight who has been homeless for the past year. Jackson became homeless after her Memphis, Tennessee, home was destroyed by a tornado.

“Being homeless is chaotic and stressful, but right now it is just what we have to do,” says Jackson. “It feels like we are facing an existence of day-to-day survival.”

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café meets at Jalapeno’s Mexican Restaurant, 314 N. Second Ave., Sandpoint.

Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual, comfortable setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to stan@followcommunity.org or 208-304-6465.
