Sandpoint transportation workshop dates set
A mechanical failure caused partially treated water to be distributed by the Sand Creek water treatment plant in mid-July.
SANDPOINT — City officials are in the final stages of adopting a new multimodal transportation plan. At this stage, recommended transportation solutions will be presented and public review and input is requested, Sandpoint City Administrator Jennifer Stapleton said in a press release Monday.
Concerns, proposed concepts and solutions will be presented in three parts:
- Part 1 – East-West Connection
- Part 2 – Division Avenue Road Safety Audit and Citywide Pedestrian Priority Network
- Part 3 – Baldy Extension and U.S. Highway 2 Corridor
A series of three electronic community workshops will be held to provide an opportunity for the public to provide feedback and ask questions. The zoom workshops are scheduled as follows:
- Part 1 – Thursday, Jan. 28, 6 p.m.
- Part 2 – Thursday, Feb. 4, 6 p.m.
- Part 3 – Thursday, Feb. 11, 6 p.m.
Community members can register for the workshops and/or view the proposed concepts and solutions and provide feedback electronically using the link on the city’s website at sandpointidaho.gov/home.
The first workshop this Thursday will include specific discussions on proposed changes at First Avenue and Superior Street, First Avenue and Pine Street, Fifth Avenue and Pine Street, Fifth Avenue and Church Street, Euclid Avenue and U.S. 2-Pine Street, Sixth Avenue and U.S. 2-Pine Street and the Pine Street Corridor. In addition, proposed improvements at First Avenue and Bridge Street and First Avenue and Church Street will be presented.
Presentation boards featuring proposed improvements are also on display in the lobby at Sandpoint City Hall.
