Lady Cats swept by Bonners Ferry JV
CLARK FORK — The Clark Fork girls basketball was unable to avoid being swept by the Bonners Ferry JV team on Tuesday night. The team lost 39-18.
It's the Lady Cats' seventh straight defeat.
Last Thursday, Clark Fork lost 44-22 at Bonners Ferry. In that game, the Lady Cats struggled breaking the Badgers' 2-2-1 press, but they had no issue with it last night. Instead, Clark Fork couldn't buy a bucket.
"We struggled really bad on the offensive end tonight," head coach Jordan Adams said.
A couple players for the Badgers swing between JV and varsity and they took over the game early. Bonners Ferry led 28-6 at the half.
But the Lady Cats didn't give up and outscored the Badgers 12-11 in the second half. Clark Fork tallied nine points in the fourth quarter, that's as many as they scored in the first three quarters combined.
Adams was proud of the Lady Cats' effort down the stretch.
"One thing that I really like about my group this year is that they get along really well, and the other thing is they really surprise me," she said. "Our fourth quarter we had a couple girls in that didn't have as much experience as some of the other girls, but they get out there and hustle so much. They forced a bunch of turnovers."
Freshman Lily Reuter led the team with six points. Kellie Mace, Katelyn Matteson and Emily Myers each scored three points.
Clark Fork (2-10) heads to Wallace at 6 p.m. Thursday.
