Why bother to ask, just give the COVID test

| July 22, 2021 1:00 AM

What has happened to intelligence in this country? I recently called a local medical clinic that I have used for years. They have asked me the same questions every time I want an appointment: "Do you have any of the following COVID-19 symptoms?" Now remember, I have already explained to the receptionist that I need to see someone because I have an infection.

I have been coming to this clinic for years and I know the questions relating to COVID so I say I have none of the symptoms of COVID. That didn’t matter, the receptionist wants to ask me all of the questions. I have also been told me that when I do arrive, I will be given a COVID test, regardless of how I answer the questions, and must wait for the results before we can make an appointment to see the doctor.

So even if I say no to all the questions, they are going to make me take a COVID test, so the questions really serve no purpose. The COVID test says whether or not I get to see the doctor.

Or, let's say I answer yes to all the questions, then I most assuredly have to have the COVID test. Then for the sake of argument, let's say the test comes back negative. Of what use or sense were the questions? Regardless of my answers to the questions, I have to have a COVID test, and whatever the test results are, that will decide if get to see the doctor at this time, so why bother to ask the questions at all? Just give me the COVID test.
