A few thoughts on perspective and the Father

Perspective, it’s funny how fickle and ever changing it can be. One minute we can see someone as an enemy, and then with a little perspective shift, they become just another person hurting, or maybe even a friend given the right circumstance.

In our walk with Christ, perspective changes are not only beneficial, but absolutely crucial. In Romans 12:2 it says this, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

You see, the thing about perspective is that ours is limited, while that of the Father is one that can see all the potential from each situation. If we are called to have the mind of Christ, it includes viewing things the way He views them, it is done through a complete transformation.

So how do we change our perspective? We open our hearts up to accepting that perhaps we are not always right. We change our perspective by admitting that ours is not the only one, and then praying, “Lord help me have the mind of Christ.”

It is one of those critical things that like most things that are good and Holy, is essentially about changing the focus off of you and your wants, and putting it onto God and the will of the Father. Lord may you ever transform our minds and renew our spirits to walk in unity with you and your body. Amen.
