STEVENSVILLE, Mont. — The 12U Sandpoint Sasquatch baseball team advanced to the championship game at the Stevi Showdown Tournament held this past weekend in Stevensville, Montana.

The squad carried a 4-0 record into the title game thanks to solid pitching, strong defense and timely hitting. But in the championship game, some untimely mistakes cost the Sasquatch and they fell to a strong Bitterroot team to place second at the tournament.

Head coach Brent Eacret was proud of the team’s performance.

"The boys played their hearts out this season and grew so much in process," he said. "They finished the year with a quality third-place finish in a tough Spokane tourney and then made it to the championship game this past week. The boys really showed their commitment to the team slogan of 'Attitude, Effort, Team,' and it showed with their performance all year”.
