Weight limit restrictions have been added to more county roads, according to Bonner County Road & Bridge officials.

In District 1 — south of the Long Bridge — all roads, with the exception of Old House Road, are posted with weight limits.

In District 2 — Priest River and Priest Lake areas — the following roads are posted with weight limits: Bear Paw Road, Johnsons Cutoff, E. Settlement Road, Anselmo Lane, Riley Creek Park, N. Riley Creek Road, Campbell Point, Wrenco Loop, Wrenco Hills, Berry Lane, Smith Creek Road, Carr Creek, Santa Maria Road, Thama Drive, Eastside Road, Eastriver Road (from IDL 10 south), Peterson Road, Peninsula Road, Holly Glenn, Freeman Lake and all roads south of the Pend Oreille River.

By 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, only roads north of the Dickensheet junction on Highway 57 will NOT have weight restrictions. All other roads will be posted. Eastriver Road is closed from the 5700 block through the slide area due to lengthy road repairs. Please detour through Eastriver Loop. The Eastriver Loop bridge has weight restrictions of 3.2 tons per axle and a height limit of 12 feet, 1 inch.

In District 3 — Sandpoint and Clark Fork areas — all roads west of Denton Road (including Denton and includes the Sandpoint and Selle Valley areas) will be posted with weight limits 7 a.m. Tuesday. All other roads to the east (Clark Fork area) have been posted with green flags, indicating weight limits are imminent.

Per BCRC Ordinance #422, it shall be the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. These restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
